With apc extension, is there an upper limit to the number of cached variables
I'm working on a project that needs to cache certain values in the database for easy lookup later on. I know it's possible to use an extension to cache the data, but I haven't found a limit on how many variables I can have in the cache. Does anyone know what the limits are, or if there's a way to cache that many variables?
If you are using the standard apc extension, there is no upper limit for the number of cached variables.
However, the module is not intended to be used by the end user. It's intended to be used for large-scale systems, where each request hits a separate database query, and you need some kind of cache in between.
As the comments say, the cache won't benefit you with 1000 database queries.
You may instead consider using other cache modules for PHP, such as memcached or APC.

At the same time, the number of children exposed to violent television increased to 6.5 million, up from 5.3 million in 2015, the association says.
The numbers are part of an annual report from the US-based videogame and media industry trade group, which provides the annual Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) age rating system for video games. The report also looked at exposure to violent movies and television.
"Exposure to violent video games, violent movies and violent TV is a concern, especially for children, and we want to work with parents, educators and lawmakers to address these issues," said Mike Gallagher, the president and chief executive of the ESA, in a statement.
"We encourage parents to talk with their children about the risks of playing these games, and with parents of younger children to review how their children are playing games on their devices, and 0b46394aab
